Whatever that problem is may be the ROOT cause of the downloading problem you are now having.

The the Early "Mid" year 2011 models came with both version of OS X, Snow Leopard and Lion. Lion came out in June I think and then the late 2011 models came out in October. Early 2011 models were released in February 2011. But the Early 2011 models originally had Snow Leopard Pre-Installed until Lion came out. WiFi only shows when there is no Ethernet cable connected and it shows during the Boot Process so you can chose and log in to your WiFi SSID.ġ) Right you more then likely bought it with Lion Pre-Installed. I bought this MacBook Pro shortly before this past summer. Here are a couple of things I find interesting ġ. I will have to retry this and disable Wi-Fi first (in the Command+R menu). However, while in the Online Recovery menu, there was no Wi-Fi symbol anywhere (for me to turn off) so I'm not sure if the MacBook automatically detected the cable and used that as the internet source of if it was still on Wi-Fi. I did have an internet cable plugged in while trying the Online Recovery method.
